A Great Day in the Cold

We love the zoo and you know what makes it better Vance? You knew all of your animals. You walked right up to the windows and made the animal noise of the animal you were seeing! This was so fun to watch. You are a very smart boy and you loved every minute of this day!

Vance and His Lady

This is so sweet but only at this age. Vance don't even think about makin' moves on a girl while your dad is holding you and your mom is watching when you are older! We love this though. He is so affectionate and cute with Miss Jaynie.

Why Do People Say Things When They Are Unsure...

Here's the thing, I don't know if you are supposed to say these things out loud but it's late and I'm not really caring:) But Vance got called A GIRL at the park a week ago. It is still bothering me. I know my child has curly beautiful hair but he ALWAYS is dressed like a boy. He eats dirt( if the texture is not gross, haha), he throws food, loves his momma, and is always gassy. Those are all BOY things. Anyway, those are my thoughts tonight. Good night.

P.S. REALLY lady, does this look like a girl? NO.

Let's Chat, Shall We?!?

So I noticed that our blog is on the verge of dying. It has been about 2 months since I last posted. Here's why: Jordan is taking 18 credits and doing projects until 1 or 2 in the morning, I'm taking 15 credits online ( because I forgot to drop a class because I was so busy), then there is the laundry... don't even get me started, my house in general, my social life, of course, being a wife and a mom, multiple trips to Costco because my lists are never complete when I go so I always forget something and the last thing that gets done in my life at this point is my blog. It really does make me sad. I love the idea of having my thoughts and our daily happenings written down. The saddest part is that I only have 1 child and I haven't written down when anything happened. I think I could guess when Vance first took a step or when he first broke a tooth but I have yet to write it down. BUT I will do it. When Vance turns 18 months in April, I'll do it all, so be prepared!

Anyway, this is what has happened in the last 2 months. We have gotten the chance to go to Idaho and California twice, once to Monterey and the other to Southern CA. Here come the pictures:
Snowy Cabin Time

The game of all games: Settlers of Catan... even dad ASKED to play! And the red pepper? That was to tighten the ski goggles so that the onion wouldn't make him cry. Only Bruce can pull that look off:)

MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA

This is HILARIOUS! Vance really has a hard time with the Camera. He can't figure out what to do when the red light flashes in his eyes so he just gets awkward.

These boys are so funny together. We can't wait until they are 2 or 3 so that we can hear their conversations!

We didn't want to leave Monterey. I can't write about it because I actually have make-up on today and I don't want to cry and ruin it.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WITH GRANDMA SANDY

We have had so much fun traveling and are very happy to be busy but somethings just don't make it on the priority list, like the blog. But I will try to stay updated from here on out:)

The Best Christmas Present Ever!

Angie, Dallin and Beau know how to make me cry. I have been saying for months if not years that I would love to get all dressed up and go to the symphony. It was more of just something to put on the list that may or may not happen. I didn't think I would get to go for a long time. All the siblings got tickets to the Utah Symphony for both Jordan and me. When Angie said she had to show me my present online I didn't expect that at all. We were on skype and she shared her screen and showed me the preview of the show. We were in front of my whole family and grandparents. I couldn't believe it, I cried like a baby. I was so touched that they thought of what would really matter to me. Thank you guys so much! That honestly was the best present ever!

Unfortunately I got a cold sore the day before that made my whole upper lip swell ( seriously, the waiter at the restaurant wouldn't look me in the face, HA!) so we didn't really take a lot of pictures!

Christmas and New Years 2010

This was technically Vance's second Christmas but last Christmas he was so little he didn't care about trucks, lights or stories. This Christmas was really fun. He still didn't really understand the whole unwrapping thing but we helped him. He loves this big dump truck. It is a riding truck. He also loves his blocks that he got from Grandma Tall( my mom) and a trike from Aunt Angie, Bill and Cade. We had a lot of fun up in Park City for Christmas!
My mom and my brothers were in town for Christmas. She stayed with my grandparents in Ogden so we travelled her way a few times while she was here. We wish that my family lived closer, it never gets easy to have them leave. We had a fun fun fun holiday season that is for sure:)

Beau got an African drum for Christmas and Vance LOVED to drum on it with Beau. So fun to watch him copy Beau's hands.

Grandpa doing the horsy. Always a workout for the leg:)

We spent New Year's up in Park City with the family. Vance didn't make it past 9 p.m. :)

Temple Square

One of the things we look forward to during Christmas is going to see the christmas lights at Temple Square. They are spectacular and the temple itself is breathtaking. We feel very grateful to live near this beautiful temple.
