Starting Solids

I can't believe that he is almost 6 months! Where has the time gone?! I love this age though. He is so smiley and loves loves loves Jordan and I so much and we can't get enough of him.
Anyway, we started Vance on solids about 3 weeks ago. My sweet tank wanted more than I could give him so we started him with cereal and bananas... he loves them. I knew that food would not be an issue with this boy ( he is part Tall:). Then we tried avocados and breast milk... yummy right? He loved that too. Then we tried green beans and breast milk... HATED THAT ... I wouldn't blame him. So now we are on Sweet potatoes and breast milk and he loved it! This is so fun to see what concoction I can make up and see if he will eat it... ha ha:)

Jordan's 1st time feeding a baby... it went very well:)

P.S. That orange baby feeder is THE BOMB... I'll post about it later.

I Love My Boy

Vance loves to touch my face. I'm guessing that it comforts him. This is one of my favorite things to do. I love to fall asleep cuddling with my sweet baby boy. Thanks to Angie for taking this picture... such a sweet one:)

Grandma's 72nd Birthday

We love Grandma. She started a tradition of having birthday dinners for every person when we all started coming out to college. Because of this, we thought that it would be appropriate to do a birthday dinner for her. She is so sweet and thoughtful. She makes each person feel very special on their birthday so we needed to do the same for her.

Angie (our party planner/37 weeks pregnant) made the arrangements and we figured out dinner. We wanted to do something that grandma never makes for dinner so we did pork and hominy soup, fruit platter, homemade corn bread( sooo yummy) and asparagus. Angie is an amazing cook. It turned out perfect!

While we prepared dinner, Vance and Grandma played out on the porch in the beautiful weather...
The dinner...
After dinner we decided to have a special surprise when we sang happy birthday. We had three computers on with Lynnie and her fam, Steph and her fam, and my mom and the boys on Skype. They could all see the excitement on Grandma's face. She had never heard of Skype. She was thrilled that the whole family could see each other and that she could see them. Her face was priceless!

We topped the night off with chatting around a couple pans of cinnamon rolls and whatever else was left over. Grandma was so happy and in her words, "That was a tender night and it will be a something that I will always remember." That is what I call a perfect birthday party :)

How To Train Your Dragon in 3D

We went to see the movie "How To Train Your Dragon" and it was so cute! Vance usually does really well in movies. He loves to watch them. But toward the end of the movie, Vance got a little fussy. I completely forgot how the movie looks without 3D glasses. He watched most of the movie with it all blurry! So I got him some 3D glasses and that fixed the problem. He was happy from then on:)

CALIFORNIA LOVE

I feel like we have been on a non-stop trip since Vance was born. It is kind of tiring but at the same time, I love it. We headed out to San Fran so Jordan could meet some people for internships/ job contact. This was Vance's first time on an airplane. I really wasn't worried at all about him. I know him and I knew he would act like he does everywhere... eat, sleep, go to the bathroom, and eat again. I just love him.

Jordan's ended up meeting with 3 men who were all completely different. It really opened up Jordan's eyes and gave him hope that he will be able to do what he loves to do. One of the guys he got to meet with was a gentleman who works as the lead animator for special effects at Dreamworks. Jordan could not wait to see what he did and how he ended up in his position. When he walked out of Dreamworks doors, I will never forget the way he look. He look like a little boy who got to eat all the candy that he wanted... he was so giddy! That will be just a little something that will be embedded in my memory forever. I love that I married a man that is still a boy at heart. He is so cute!

The next day we headed up to my hometown, Chico. I haven't been home in about 7 years. There is a simplicity of Chico that I love. There is a homey feel to this little town. We were able to stay with my Uncle Scott and Aunt Kaci. We had such a good time catching up and Vance, of course, loved being the center of attention:) I will always have a little place in my heart for Chico, CA.

Jon and Bon's Frozen Yogurt... my favorite!

Uncle Scott could not get enough of Vance:)
